- Diertie – Derwertji. Debora. There is no record of the birth of Debora, and her parentage is uncertain. She probably was the first born child of Gerardus Willemse Beekman, and Magadalent Abeel of Albany, m. Aug. 29, 1677. They settled at Flatbush. He was colonel of militia, and justice of the peace in 1685. He took the oath of allegiance in 1687 as a native. He was a member of the Colonial Assembly from Kings Co. in 1698-9 acting governor in 1704-1710. He and his wife made a joint will, probably at the date of their marriage. Other issue: Christopher, bp. Jan. 16, 1681 in Flatbush; Adrian, bp. Aug. 27, 1682. In Flatbush: Wilhelminus, bn. Aug. 10, 1684. in Brooklyn: John; Catherine, bp. June 2, 1689.
